Bruin men's soccer head coach Matt Briggs announced today the signing of Lee Woolmore (Norfolk, England) to a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2013.
Lee, the son of Nigel and Lesley Woolmore, attended the College of West Anglia Kings Lynn in Norfolk, England under head coach Dan Buhlemann.
He was voted the 2012 Young Player of the Year for his Swaffham Town club team and the Manager's Player of the Year for Kings Lynn Community Football in 2011.
Woolmore also attended the extended trial with Watford and Norwich City in 2012.
"Lee is another great signing for our program," said Briggs. "He is a commanding central defender who likes to play from the back. Lee comes from the same school as two former Bellevue University standouts, Mark Heath-Preston and Tom White, who have been instrumental in his recruitment. If Lee follows in their footsteps, he will have a fantastic career with the Bruins"
Woolmore joins earlier signees, Jake Williams (Hale, England) and Ben Martin (Lincolnshire, England).
Bellevue ended the 2012 season with a 10-8-1 overall record. The Bruins finished second in the MCAC regular season standings with a 5-1 conference mark and also placed second in the MCAC Tournament to No. 3-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
