Seven Bruins earn all-MCAC honors

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- Mitch Kavanagh, Emmanuel Pena and Jamie Waters each earned first team all-MCAC honors and another four members of the Bellevue University men's soccer team were awarded second team all-conference accolades announced today in conjunction with the MCAC Tournament hosted by Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

Juan Cale, Jacob Cawsey, Graeme Eaglesham and Rob Jackson each earned second team all-MCAC accolades.

Kavanagh recorded three assists while Waters tallied three goals and three assists as the duo helped anchor a Bruin defense that recorded four shutouts.

For the second-straight season, Pena earned first team all-MCAC honors. The junior scored one goal with an assist this season.

Cale played and started in goal in five of the Bruins' last six matches and compiled a 3-2-0 record while making 27 saves with a 1.60 goals against average.

Eaglesham led the Bruins in goals (9), points (18) and shots on goal (19). He also earned first team honors in 2011 and 2009.

Cawsey recorded two goals with two assists while Jackson scored two goals.

Bellevue ended the 2012 season with a 10-8-1 overall record. The Bruins finished second in the MCAC regular season standings with a 5-1 conference mark and also placed second in the MCAC Tournament to No. 3-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
