OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team advanced to the title game of the MCAC Tournament with a 2-0 win over Southwestern Christian University Friday afternoon at Tranquility Park.
The Bruins (10-7-1) will travel to Bartlesville, Okla. for the championship game next Friday, Nov. 9, at No. 1-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan University. OWU won the MCAC regular season title and is currently ranked No. 4 in the nation with a 17-0-1 record. The Eagles defeated Waldorf College, 8-0, in the other semifinal match.
Southwestern Christian finished the season with an 11-6-0 overall record.
Jacob Cawsey gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead off a free kick in the 24th minute of the first half. Graeme Eaglesham added an insurance goal, scoring with 15 seconds remaining in the contest on a cross in the box from Jamie Waters.
Juan Cale collected a key save in the final minute, while improving to 3-1 on the season with his second shutout. He recorded three saves in the win.
Bellevue held a 19-9 advantage in shots and a 9-3 margin in shots on goal.
