Conchie's goal gives Bruins eighth-straight win, 2-1, at Grand View

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Michael Conchie's goal in the 69th minute propelled the Bellevue University men's soccer team to a 2-1 non-conference win at Grand View University Wednesday night at the James W. Cownie Soccer Complex.

Bellevue has now won eight-straight matches to improve to 9-6-1 while Grand View fell to 7-7-2 overall.

GVU struck first with a goal by Aaron Scott with the assist credited to Noel Medina at 18:09.

Rob Jackson scored his second goal of the season in the 30th minute to tie the contest at 1-1 at intermission.

Conchie netted the decisive goal at 68:03 on a pass from Emmanuel Pena to give the Bruins the 2-1 win. This marked Conchie's fourth career game-winner.

The Vikings outshot BU by 24-6 advantage including a 10-3 edge in shots on frame. GVU also had eight corner kicks to the Bruins' one.

Juan Cale recorded his second win of the season and tied a career-high with nine saves. The Cali, Colombia native also notched nine saves at Graceland University last season. Conor Thomas (7-7-2) suffered the loss, registering one save.

The Bruins will close the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 27, when they host sixth-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University at 2:30 p.m. at Tranquility Park. The winner of the that match will win the MCAC regular season crown and earn the No. 1 seed in the MCAC Tournament.

The Bruins' six seniors will also be honored prior to kick-off with the Eagles.
