Bruins record 2-1 comeback victory over Doane

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team scored two quick goals midway through the second half and got a key save from Luke Baxter to preserve a 2-1 victory over Doane College in non-conference action at Tranquility Park Wednesday night. 

The Bruins (3-6-1) will begin conference play on Saturday, Sept. 29, when they travel to Conway, Ark. for a 2:30 p.m. match at Central Baptist College. Doane fell to 2-5-1 on the season.

Connor Williams scored off a header from a corner kick by Jake Miller at 39:06 to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. 

Bellevue tied it in the second half with a goal by Graeme Eaglesham off a cross in the box from Ryan Beasley at 59:06. Bellevue took the lead just over a minute later with an unassisted goal by Jacob Cawsey from the top of the box. It was Cawsey's first goal of the season and proved to be the game winner.  

Baxter, the reigning NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week, had a key penalty-kick save with five minutes remaining in the contest. He improved to 3-5 on the season, registering six saves in the win.
