No. 24 Bethel edges Bellevue, 2-1

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The 24th-ranked Bethel (Ind.) College men's soccer team scored two second-half goals to edge Bellevue University, 2-1, Friday night in the Bethel Classic. 

Bellevue (1-5-1) will conclude tournament action on Saturday with a 4:30 p.m. match against Indiana Wesleyan University. Bethel improved to 4-1-1 on the season. 

Senior David Lastra gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead in the first half after scoring at 18:37 on a cross pass from Ryan Beasley. It was Lastra's first goal of the season.

Bethel tied the game in the 61st minute with Eduardo Fernandez' shot into the upper left corner of the net off an assist from Luke Davis.

The Pilots' Timothy Wilson scored the game-winner with just under 13 minutes remaining in the contest, finding the back of the net off a short pass from Daniel Moyo that snuck past Bruin goalkeeper Luke Baxter into the lower right corner of the goal.  

The two teams each had 10 shots on goal with the Pilots holding a 19-14 advantage in total shots.

Baxter (1-4) took the loss, despite recording a season-high seven saves.
