BASEHOR, Kan. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team finished in fourth place in the 36-hole Falcon Lakes Spring Invite being played at the par-72, 7,067-yard Falcon Lakes Golf Club. The teams played all 36 holes of the tournament on Friday.
Host school MidAmerica Nazarene University captured the title in the seven-team field, finishing with a team total of 3-over par with rounds of 286 and 293. NCAA Division II schools Minnesota-Crookston and Augustana (S.D.) finished in a tie for second place at 26-over par.
The Bruins earned a fourth-place finish with a 29-over-par total after shooting rounds of 304 and 301.
Cayden Wynne, who was competing as an individual, was the top Bruin golfer on the day, finishing the tournament at even par with identical rounds of even-par 72. He finished in a tie for fifth place in the 52-player field. Wynne had four birdies and 29 pars on the day.
Sam Johnson finished the tournament at 5-over par with rounds of 76 and 73. His second round was highlighted by three straight birdies on the back nine.
Dylan Rodgers finished at 7-over par with scores of 75 and 76. He had five birdies on the day.
Totte Uhlan fired rounds of 78 and 74, finishing at 8-over par and in a tie for 19th place. He had six birdies in the two rounds.
In his first action as a Bruin, Randy Christiansen carded rounds of 76 and 78 to put him at 10-over par and in a tie for 22nd place. He had two birdies in each round.
Nathan Ishaya finished at 12-over par and in a tie for 26th place with rounds of 77 and 79.
Hugo Brandt, who competed as an individual, finished in a tie for 32nd place at 14-over par (82-76).
The Bruins will travel to Bullhead City, Ariz., on Mar. 25-26 to compete in the Laughlin Ranch Vegas Invite being played at the Laughlin Ranch Golf Club.
