BISMARCK, N.D. -- For the second time this season, freshman Sam Johnson has earned North Star Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week honors for his performance at the Whistling Straits Championship played on Oct. 23-24 in Sheboygan, Wis.
Johnson finished in a tie for sixth place in the 15-team, 75-player Whistling Straits Championship played at the 6,940-yard, par-72 Whistling Straits Golf Course. He recorded rounds of 85 and 70 in difficult and windy conditions.
Johnson's second round was highlighted by five birdies.
Johnson leads the 2023-24 Bruins with a 72.7 strokes-per-round average.
