Bruins surge into third after third round at Nationals

Round 4 Pairings

SILVIS, Ill. -- Led by Rodrigo Navarrete, the Bellevue University men's golf team surged into third place after three rounds of play at the 2022 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship being played at the 6,691-yard, par-71 TPC at Deere Run. 

The consistent Bruins shot a team score of 2-over 286 and are now 5-over for the tournament.

Keiser regained the team lead after shooting a 3-under 281. The Seahawks are 9-under after 54 holes. 

Dalton State is two strokes back at 7-under after shooting a team score of 1-over 285 in Thursday's third round. 

Navarrete shot BU's top round of the tournament with a 2-under 69 on the day. He is 1-under for the tournament which put him in a tie for 15th place. After shooting a 2-over 37 on the front nine, Navarrete recorded four birdies and five pars on the back nine to finish at 2-under for the day. 

Hugo Ronnberg fired a 1-over 72 and is 1-over for the tournament. He is currently tied for 22nd place. After starting the day 3-over on the first two holes, Ronnberg rebounded with five birdies on his round. 

Baptiste Bonnet shot his best round of the tournament with a 1-over 72. He is 11-over for the tournament and in a tie for 69th place. Bonnet's round was highlighted by an eagle on the 520-yard, par-5 17th hole. 

Alex Zillig carded a 2-over 73 and is 2-over for the tournament. Zillig is in a tie for 30th place. His round was sparked by an eagle on the 512-yard, par-5 10th hole. Zillig also collected four birdies on the day.  

Hugo Brandt registered a 6-over 77, putting him at 8-over for the tournament and in a tie for 54th place. He had a pair of birdies and 10 pars in the third round. 

Point's Brendan Porter and Wayland Baptist's Sebastien Tremulot continue to lead the individual standings. Porter is currently at 12-under par while Tremulot is two strokes back at 10-under par. 

A quartet of players are three strokes back at 9-under par.  

Friday's fourth and final round will begin at 8:00 a.m.
