7-under final round powers BU to IWU Title

OMAHA, Neb. -- Three of the four scoring golfers for the No. 5-ranked Bellevue University men's golf team shot under par in Saturday's final round to see the Bruins storm back to claim the title at the Indiana Wesleyan University Fall Invitational.

Bellevue began the day trailing Marian University by three strokes but their 7-under (281) team score saw them cruise to a nine-stroke victory as Marian carded a 5-over 293 on the day. The Bruins shot 860 (-4) for the tournament to Marian's 869 (+5).

Hugo Ronnberg and Floris-Jan Oosterhof led the comeback victory, shooting 68 (-4) and 69 (-3) on the day. Ronnberg (+1) climbed into a tie for fifth in the tournament and Oosterhof was the top finished for the Bruins, finished second at 2-under.

Alex Zillig (71) carded a 1-under round and Baptiste Bonnet posted a solid 1-over (73). Zillig (+2) finished in sixth and Bonnet (+1) placed fourth place, respectively.

BU's fifth golfer, Rodrigo Navarrete shot a 5-over 77 to finished the tournament at 5-over in 10th place.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- Hugo Brandt was the top finisher at the Nebraska Intercollegiate as Bellevue finished in eight place at the event.

Midland University and Northeast Community College tied for the team title at 3-over. Bellevue shot 31-over as a unit to finish eighth.

Brandt posted an even-par round for the second straight day to finish in a four-way tie for eighth.

Geronimo Narizzano, of Southeast Community College, shot 6-under on the day to win the individual title at 3-under. He finished a stroke ahead of three golfers; Peyton Koch (Midland), Preston Carbaugh (Midland), and Gabe Escalera (Hastings).

Totte Uhlan carded a 1-over round to finish at 1-over in a tie for 12th.

Brendon Walker shave six strokes off his first round score to finish at 12-over in a tie for 40th. Evan Macke also saw an improvement, of two strokes, to finish tied for 54th at 18-over.
