ALBERT LEA, Minn. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team had four of the top five golfers as the Bruins won the Waldorf Invitational by 11-strokes on Sunday. The tournament was played at the 6,594-yard, par-72 Wedgewood Cove Golf Club.
The Bruins had two separate teams competing in the event. The "B" squad took fourth place in the 12-team race.
Bellevue shot a team score of 16-under par 272. Iowa Central CC was 11 strokes back at 5-under.
Floris-Jan Oosterhof led the 84-player field after firing a 6-under par 66 in Sunday's round. Oosterhof's round was sparked by seven birdies and an eagle.
Baptiste Bonnet was one stroke back at 5-under. He had eight birdies on the day.
Hugo Ronnberg finished third at 4-under and Totte Uhlan tied for fourth at 3-under.
Two other BU players finished in the top 10 with Rodrigo Navarrete and Alex Zillig both tied for eighth place at 1-under par.
The Bruins will compete in a separate tournament on Monday, the Waldorf Challenge, at Rice Lake Golf Course in Lake Mills, Iowa. d
