POLK CITY, Iowa -- Andre Becerra shot a team-best 70 in Tuesday's second round to help Bellevue overcome an eight-stroke deficit and claim victory at the eight-team Grand View Viking Classic played at the 7,043 year, par 71 Tournament Club of Iowa.

Bellevue entered the day eight shots behind day one leader Northwestern Ohio but a tournament-best round of 288 as a team to take a one-stroke victory over the Racers (891-892).

William Penn (898) finished six shots off the pace in third place followed by host Grand View (899) and Mount Mercy (904) rounding out the top five. Des Moines Area CC (918), Ottawa (939), and Central College (964) rounded out the field of participants.

William Penn's Zachary Chegwidden won the individual title with a three-round total of 898, including a 2-under performance on Tuesday. He earned a comfortable eight-shot victory over Grand View's Mitch Pfingstein who placed second with a cumulative score of 213. Fernando Arzate was the top BU finisher with a score of 219 (69-77-73) to place in a tie for fourth.

Becerra (221—76-75-70) climbed six places in the individual standings to finish in a tie for sixth place with his performance on Tuesday.

Juan Gomez remained in 10th place with a third round score of 74 for a 54-hole total of 223. Lautaro Marzilio (228—78-79-71) finished in a tie for 14th place with Inaki Aldao rounding out the BU lineup with a score of 252 (88-83-81).

Bellevue returns to the course on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 6-7 when they look to defend their title at the Nebraska Intercollegiate Championship at Norfolk Country Club in Norfolk, Neb.
