ONALASKA, Wis. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team saw Viterbo University shave three strokes off their lead but still own a 25-stroke advantage headed into the final day of the 2016-17 NSAA Championship.

After the third round of play at the 6,810 yard, par-72 Golf Club at Cedar Creek on Monday afternoon, Bellevue has a team total 910 with Viterbo in second place with a team score of 935. Jamestown sits in third place with a team total of 939. Valley City State (960), Waldorf (973), and Dickinson State (1072) round out the field.

Diego Gudino shot a third-round best par-72 and leads all individuals with a three-round total of 222 (+7). Teammate Fernando Arzate is tied with Jamestown's Jacob Rice in second place with scores of 228 (+13) after carding scores of 79 and 76, respectively, in the third round.

Juan Gomez is in fifth place overall with a 54-hole total of 232 (+17), two strokes ahead of Nicolas Handal who is tied for sixth with a score of 234 (+19). The former shot 82 on the day with the latter checking in with a 75.

Andre Becerra fired a 77 on the day, his first round in the tournament after joining the team just prior to the spring semester.

Tuesday's final round will begin at approximately 9 a.m. The winner of the event will secure the North Star's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship in Silvis, Ill.
