Men's Golf finishes 3rd at Wildcat Cup

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Led by Andre Becerra's fourth-place finish, the Bellevue University men's golf team finished in third place at the 12-team Wildcat Cup at Brickyard Crossing Tuesday. The 36-hole tournament was hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. 

Taylor University won the team title with a 13-over-par total of 589 (303-286). Grand View University placed second with a 601 (296-305) team total. The Bruins were 18 shots off the pace with a 607 (303-304) two-round total. 

Becerra shot an even-par 72 on the day and finished the tournament at 2-over-par (74-72). He was fourth out of 73 individuals. Fernando Arzate finished in a tie for ninth at 5-over par (71-78).

Nicolas Handal was 11-over par, which put him in a tie for 31st place. Diego Gudino finished in a tie for 43rd with a 157 (80-77) total. Juan Gomez was 19-over-par for the tournament with rounds of 82 and 81.

University of Cumberlands' Ben Kendrick won the individual title with a 3-under total of 141 (69-72).  

The Bruins will travel to LaCrosse, Wis. for the NSAA Spring Conference Tournament on Monday-Tuesday, April 24-25.
