MADISON, S.D. -- For the second time in three weeks and the fourth time in his career, junior Fernando Arzate has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Golfer of the Week in an announcement made today by the league office.
After shooting a first-round score of 73 at the Nebraska Intercollegiate Championships, Arzate fired a final round score of 70 to claim the individual title by one stroke. He had three birdies, 14 pars and one bogey in his 2-under-par final round. Arzate was the only golfer in the 75-golfer field to shoot under par for the tournament, fueling Bellevue to the team tournament title in the 15-squad field.
The Bruins will conclude the fall season on Oct. 17-18 at the Lawrence Tech Kohler Classic in Kohler, Wis.
