Vega makes cut after firing a 4-under 68

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Senior Jose Vega shot a 4-under par 68 and moved into a tie for eighth place after the third round at the 2015 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships being played at the LPGA International Hills Golf Course.

Vega is currently 1-under par for the tournament with a three-round total of 215 (75-72-68). He moved up 27 spots on the day and tied for the third lowest round on the afternoon.

Sean Elliott of Dalton State is the tournament leader at 14-under par after three rounds. He leads his nearest competitor by six strokes. 

The Bruins shot a team score of 13-over par 301 on the 6,947-yard, par-72 course and moved into a tie for 20th place. As a team, the Bruins failed to make the cut, as the top 17 teams advance to Friday's final round. 

However, Vega will advance to Friday's finale as the top 40 individuals who are not part of the top 17 teams will also move on. 

Coastal Georgia leads the team standings with an 11-under three-round total of 854 (282-289-283), 16 shots ahead of second-place William Woods.
