Men’s golf places 15th at Primm Battle

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Sophomore Diego Gudino and senior Jose Vega led the Bellevue men's golf team to a 303 in the third and final round of the Battle at Primm on Tuesday afternoon.  The Bruins, paced by Gudino's 73 and Vega's 74, placed 15th in the highly competitive field of 17 teams.

Juniors Mike Hannon (77), Tomas Ovejero (79), and Nicolas Handal (79) all shot under 80 on the round.

Oklahoma City University won the overall team title with a three-round score of 835, 21 strokes ahead of Cal State University-San Marcos (856). Bellevue shot 904 for the tournament to place 15th.

Vega paced BU with a 72-hole score of 219 (+3). Hannon (228, +12), Gudino (230, +14), and Ovejero (234, +18) were tightly bunched together in second through fourth place for the Bruins while Handal shot a 23-over 239 in the tournament.

The Bruins return to the links on Monday, Apr. 6 when they travel to Midwest City, Okla. for the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational.
