DALLAS, Texas -- The Bellevue University men's golf team, led by Jose Vega's 16th place showing, finished in seventh place at the 17-team NAIA Contender Tuesday at the TPC Four Seasons.
Bellevue finished with a two-day total of 616 (311-305), 43 shots off the pace of tournament champion Oklahoma City University (301-272 -- 573).
Vega was the top Bruin golfer in the tournament after posting a 3-over par 74 on the day, finishing the tournament with an 8-over total of 150 (76-74).
Mike Hannon tied for 48th with a 157 (75-82) total. Tomas Ovejero tied for 51st with a 158 (84-74), tying Vega for the top Bruin round on the day.
Diego Gudino also tied for 51st with a 157 (78-80). Nicolas Handal finsihed with a 17-over par 159 total, which put him in a tie for 56th place.
Juan Gomez rounded out the Bruin scoring with a 165 (86-79) total.
The Bruins will compete at the University of Illinois, Springfield Invitational at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club on March 14-15.
