DALLAS, Texas -- Led by Mike Hannon's 4-over par 75, the Bellevue University men's golf team is currently in eighth place in the 17-team NAIA Contender at the par-71 (7,166 yards) TPC Four Seasons.
Texas Wesleyan leads the tournament with a team score of 16-over par 300. The Bruins are 11 strokes back at 27-over par, 311.
Jose Vega is tied for 15th with a 5-over 76. Diego Gudino shot a 7-over 78 and is tied for 38th place. Nicolas Handal fired an 11-over par, 82, putting him in a tie for 56th. Tomas Ovejero is tied for 68th place with a first round score of 84. Juan Gomez rounded out the Bruins' scoring with a 15-over, 86, putting him in a tie for 78th.
Oklahoma City University's Garrison Mendoza shot the only sub-par round of the day, finishing with a 2-under 69, giving him a two-stroke lead over three other players.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday (March 10) with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
