DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team sits in 21st place after the first round of the NAIA Men's Golf Championships at the LPGA International Champions Course on Tuesday.
The College of Coastal Georgia leads the field after firing a 3-under par team score of 285.
Jay Monahan of Grand View and Jess Wingett of Concordia (Ore.) are tied for first individually with 3-under par 69's.
Bellevue finished the day with a team score of 305.
Diego Gudino and Jose Vega are tied for 68th place after firing three-over-par rounds of 75.
Tomas Ovejero led the Bruins with three birdies and recorded an opening round of 77.
Nicolas Herrera registered a 78 while Mike Hannon shot an 84.
The Bruins will tee off in Wednesday's second round beginning at 1:40 p.m. EST.
The tournament is a 72-hole event with the final round scheduled for Friday, May 16.
