MIDWEST CITY, Okla. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team is currently in third place after the first round of the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational at John Conrad Regional Golf Course on Monday.

Oklahoma City University leads the 15-team field with a 23-under-par score of 265. Bellevue finished with a team total of 285.

The Bruins were led Jose Vega, who tied his season lowest round with a five-under-par 67, to place him in a tie for third place.

Nicolas Herrera is in 14th place after recording a one-under-par 71 while Enrique Jaramillo fired a 73 to place him 25th.

Tomas Ovejero and Diego Gudino both carded rounds of 74 to tie for 33rd overall.

The Bruins will conclude the two-day tournament tomorrow.
