OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Bellevue University men's golf team is in third place overall after the first day of competition at the Southwestern Christian Invitational at Lake Hefner Golf Course.
Southwestern Christian and Oklahoma Baptist are tied for first place with a first day total of 272 (-8).
The Bruins were led by Jose Vega who is tied for third place after a three-under-par round of 67.
Tomas Ovejero finished the day tied for fifth place after firing a round of 68.
Diego Gudino, Nicolas Herrera and Mike Hannon are all tied for 14th place after first round scores of 71.
The Bruins will wrap-up the two-day tournament tomorrow (Sept. 4).
