OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Bellevue University men's golf team currently sits in fifth place after the first round of competition in the 14-team Southwestern Christian Fall Invitational at the Lake Hefner Golf Club. The Bruins will conclude the two-day tournament tomorrow.
John Matthews leads the Bruins with a three-under-par 69 which puts him in a tie for fifth place overall.
Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma lead the tournament with an eight-under-par team score of 280. The Bruins have a team total of 290.
Mike Hearne of Southern Nazarene leads the tournament with a first round score of 65 (-7).
