Nate Geiser

Nate Geiser joined the Bellevue University men’s basketball staff ahead of the 2019-20 season after spending the previous four seasons as the Head Assistant Coach at Cal State-Monterey Bay.

In his first four seasons at Bellevue, he helped lead the Bruins to an average of 19.8 wins per yaer, a trio of 20-win seasons, two NSAA Regular-Season Championship, back-to-back NSAA Tournament Titles in 2021 and 2022, and a pair of appearances in the National Tournament.

In addition to his on-court coaching responsibilities, Coach Geiser main respsonsibilities include recruiting, academics, and scouting reports. Academically, under the eye of Geiser, the team posted a team GPA above 3.0 for the first time in three years. For his efforts, Geiser was elevated to his current position as Associate Head Coach following the conclusion of the 2020-21 campaign. 

In four years as an assistant at CSUMB, Geiser helped guide the Otters. At CSUMB, Geiser’s responsibilities included recruiting, advance scouting, travel operations, and academic advising.

Prior to arriving at CSUMB, Geiser worked at Northern Oklahoma College. He began his coaching career as an assistant for the Mavericks while doubling as the Director of the Wellness Center and Student Activities Coordinator at Northern Oklahoma.

A native of Tonkawa, Okla., Geiser played collegiately at Northern Arizona University during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. He helped the Lumberjacks advance to the Big Sky Conference Championship Game in each of his two seasons on campus as the team posted a 39-23 record. One of the top long-range shooters in NAU history, he set a Big Sky Conference record by knocking down 11 consecutive 3-pointers from Dec. 19-30, 2006.

Geiser graduated from Northern Arizona in 2008 with a B.S. in Advertising and a minor in Public Relations. Excelling in the classroom, Geiser was a two-time Big Sky All-Academic selection and a 2008 CoSIDA Academic All-America nominee.
