Jai Steadman is in his first season on the Bruin coaching staff in 2012-13 after spending the last three seasons as an assistant coach for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA D-League.
Steadman was responsible for scouting, on-floor coaching,
practice and pre-game preparation, individual development and
player movement and aquisition for the Vipers.
Prior to joining the Vipers coaching staff, he was an
assistant coach for the University of Louisiana-Lafayette from
2007-09. Steadman also has coaching experience with the Fort Worth
Flyers, University of North Texas, McNeese State University,
Michigan Mayhem, Randers Cimbria, Texas Christian University and
Tyler Junior College.
Steadman received a Bachelor's degree in
family studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1997.
He is married to Sally and they have four children, Morgan, Malik, Bryan and Sidney.
