BISMARCK, N.D. -- The Bellevue University men's basketball team swept the weekly North Star Athletic Association awards as junior JJ Montgomery (Offense) and senior Nigel Wilson (Defense) helped the Bruins defeat Haskell Indian Nations University, 88-56, in the Four Points by Sheraton Bruin Classic on Sunday night.
Montgomery was named the NSAA Offensive Player of the Week after scoring 15 points and dishing out five assists in the 32-point victory over the Indians. He also added three rebounds. Montgomery was nearly perfect from beyond the arc, draining 5-of-6 shots from long range.
Wilson earned his second NSAA Defensive Player of the Week nod after blocking five shots, grabbing four rebounds, and dishing out five assists in the win over HINU. He also added four points, going 1-of-1 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
The Bruins will conclude the tournament tonight with a 7 p.m. contest against 14th-ranked Morningside University in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
