King tabbed as Second Team NAIA All-American

NAIA Release

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Bellevue University junior Jemeil King (Oakland, Calif.) was named a second team All-American when the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced their 2019-20 All-America Teams today.

King becomes the 19th individual – and 24th total selection – in program history to garner All-America honors and is the ninth second team selection.

King led the Bruins in scoring (15.9 PPG), rebounding (5.1 RPG), and assists (155) while ranking second in three-pointers (58), steals (41), and blocked shots (13).

He was one of just four players to average at least 15-5-5 this season in all of NAIA Division II while his assist total was the seventh-highest single season mark in program history.

Four times during the season, he earned NSAA Player of the Week honors, doing so on Nov. 11, Nov. 18, Dec. 2, and Feb. 10.

At the North Star Athletic Association Awards banquet last month King took home league MVP, Newcomer of the Year, and first team all-NSAA honors.

Bellevue finished the year 24-8 as they won their 11th-straight conference regular-season crown in 2019-20 with a 13-1 mark in North Star play.
