NSAA Release

MADISON, S.D. -- Bellevue University junior Jemeil King (Oakland, Calif.) has been recognized at the North Star Athletic Association's Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance against Avila last week, the NSAA league office announced on Monday afternoon.

King becomes the second Bruin to win the award this season, after Lewis Hayes was named NSAA Player of the Week on Oct. 28.

In helping lead Bellevue to an 81-69 win over Avila on Saturday, King scored a season-high 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting and sank 8-of-10 free throws. He pulled down seven boards, dished out seven assists, and swiped a couple of steals.

King has now scored in double figures in each of Bellevue's five games this season and is averaging 15.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. He currently leads the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, and minutes played.

Bellevue, currently 3-2 on the year, returns to play this weekend with a pair of games against Hope International (Friday, 6 p.m.) and Wayland Baptist (Saturday, 2 p.m.) at the Waldorf Classic.
