
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2013-14 Division II Men's Basketball All-American teams and Bellevue University senior guard Lee Ames earned honorable mention accolades.
Ames, who was named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Newcomer of the Year, led the Bruins in scoring with 14.1 points per game while shooting 46.9 percent from the field, 45.3 percent from beyond the arc and 89.7 percent at the free throw line. He also finished 10th in the NAIA with 91 made 3-pointers.
The Phoenix, Ariz. native scored a career-high 33 points and set the single-game school record with nine 3-pointers in the Bruins' 108-62 win over Waldorf College on Feb. 11.
The Bruins finished the season with a 29-6 overall record and a 12-2 mark in the MCAC. BU won both the regular season and tournament conference titles to advance to its 12th-straight NAIA II National Tournament appearance.
