BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The 12th-ranked Bellevue University men's basketball team scored a season-best 115 points and set a school record with 20 made 3-pointers en route to a 115-71 win over Haskell Indian Nations University Friday night in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action.

With the win,  Bellevue improved to 19-5 and 6-2 in the MCAC while Haskell Indian Nations fell to 6-16 and 2-6 in conference action.

Lee Ames and Isaiah Strong both poured in 19 points while Thomas Hammock added 18 points, including six 3-pointers.

Bailey Sanders added 13 points, three rebounds and five assists, without a turnover. The freshman from North Vernon, Ind. currently ranks 12th in the nation with a 3.1 assist/turnover ratio.

Alex Worthen-Harris chipped in eight points, four assists, four steals, three rebounds and two blocks.

Trailing 20-16 midway through the first half, the Bruins outscored HINU 30-13 to close the stanza and take a 46-33 lead at halftime. Ames scored 16 points and Hammock added 15, with five 3-pointers, to pace BU in the opening period.

BU led by as many as 46 points in the second half as they cruised to the 44-point conference win.

The Bruins shot 57.4 percent from the field and notched 31 assists on their 39 made baskets.

HINU was led by Wilber Everett and Dillion Thompson who both posted 16 points.

The Bruins will host conference-leader Oklahoma Wesleyan University (17-7, 7-1 MCAC) tomorrow (Feb. 8) at 5:00 p.m. at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center in MCAC action.
