
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Twelve players scored and the Bruins notched a season-best 107 points as the Bellevue University men's basketball team defeated Central Baptist College 107-68 in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action Friday night at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
Bellevue improved to 16-4 and 3-1 in the MCAC while Central Baptist suffered its ninth-straight loss and dropped to 1-13 overall and 0-4 in conference action.
Bailey Sanders poured in a career-high 18 points and made all nine of his free-throw attempts. He also registered five assists and three steals.
Lee Ames made five 3-pointers and finished with 16 points and Taylor Young chipped in 13 points and tied a season-high with six assists.
Isaiah Strong and Alex Worthen-Harris both scored 10 points, while Worthen-Harris also posted four rebounds and two blocks.
Michael Dotson tallied nine points, six rebounds and five assists.
Trailing 10-7, the Mustangs went on a 10-3 run to take a 17-13 lead with 11:23 left in the first half. BU responded and ended the stanza on a 36-15 spurt to take a 49-32 lead at intermission.
The Bruins outscored the Mustangs 58-36 in the second half and led by as many as 41 points en route to the convincing conference win, 107-68.
CBC was led by Bryan Tardy's game-high 20 points.
BU shot 56.1 percent from the field, including 15 3-pointers, and tallied 25 assists on 32 made field goals. The Bruins' bench also outscored CBC's by a 60-17 margin.
The Bruins will host 16th-ranked College of the Ozarks (14-5, 2-2 MCAC) tomorrow night (Jan. 25) at 5:00 p.m. at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
