Goodwin, Tarver garner all-MCAC honors

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Junior Jamil Goodwin and senior Shawn Tarver were both honored Thursday by being named to the all-Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball team in advance of the opening round of the conference tournament this weekend. 

Goodwin has started all 30 games this season and leads the Bruins with 13.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. He has recorded a team-leading 11 double-doubles on the season. Goodwin recorded a career-high 26 points in the Bruins' 78-76 win at Central Christian on Feb. 9. He collected a career-high 20 rebounds in BU's 70-55 victory over Waldorf on Jan. 26. 

Tarver has played and started in 22 games and is third on the team in scoring at 12.6 points per game. He is second on the squad with 7.0 rebounds per contest. Tarver has registered 20-or-more points in four games this season and has notched a team second-best five double-doubles on the year. 

The Bruins (21-9/12-4 MCAC) tied York College for the MCAC regular season crown and will play Waldorf College on Friday night at 5:30 p.m. in the opening game of the MCAC Tournament in York, Neb.
