POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Everett Robinson recorded a career-high 25 points and Jamil Goodwin notched his third double-double of the season as the Bellevue University men's basketball team cruised to a 97-49 win over Ecclesia College Friday night in the McDonald's Classic on the campus of College of the Ozarks.
The Bruins (8-7) will conclude the tournament on Saturday (Jan. 5) with a 1 p.m. game against Indiana University-East. The win snapped a three-game losing skid for BU. Ecclesia remained winless on the season, falling to 0-14.
Robinson nailed 5-of-8 3-pointers as the Bruins shot a season-high 53.2 percent from the field. Goodwin finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Thaddeus Perry was the third Bruin in double figures, registering a career-high 16 points.
Robinson (16) and Perry (14) combined for 30 first-half points as the Bruins shot 52.5 percent from the field, while taking a 47-29 lead into the intermission.
Bellevue opened the second half on a 23-2 run to build a commanding 70-31 advantage at the 13-minute mark. The Royals never got closer than 36 points the remainder of the contest as the Bruins ran away with the 97-49 victory.
Nathan Fort paced the Royal offense with 19 points, while adding nine rebounds.
