Bruins go 3-3 in seeding round of Midwest LoL Open

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Following an 0-2 start the Bellevue University League of Legends eSports team bounced back to win three of their next four games to earn the 10th seed after the first day of competition in the Midwest League of Legends Open on Saturday.

The Bruins began the day with back-to-back losses against Grand View University and Sloth eSports – the tournament is not limited to collegiate teams – in one-game matches for seeding purposes. However, BU bounced back to defeat Alpha Shocks and Wadu Heck to even their record to 2-2 on the day before suffering a defeat at the hands of Columbia College Silver (the Cougars' JV team). Bellevue salvaged a .500 finish on the day by taking down the University of Colorado.

With a 3-3 record in the preliminary round Bellevue has earned the 10th seed for this weekend's tournament set to take place in Wichita, Kan. BU's first match in the best-of-three knockout round is slated for 11 a.m. against Grand View.

The Bruins next match comes tonight (Jan. 31) against Grand View in the third round of the RIOT College League of Legends Tournament. Both teams are 2-0 in the Swiss Bracket portion of the event. Live video is available via the eSports Twitch Page.
