NSAA Release

MADISON, S.D. -- The Bellevue University baseball team swept the North Star Athletic Association Player of the Week Awards, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Seniors Blake Berry (Petaluma, Calif.) and Corey Jackson (Calgary, Alta.) were voted the NSAA Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Berry hit .346 with five extra-base hits, including three home runs, while driving in eight runs and scoring five times. He logged three-straight multi-hit efforts against Warner (Mar. 3), Siena Heights (Mar. 5), and St. Thomas (Mar. 5) and hit safely in six of the Bruins' seven games on the week.

Jackson fired a complete game victory to lead BU past Michigan-Dearborn at the Warner Invitational last Friday. In seven innings, he limited the Wolverines to just one run on three hits while matching a season-high with nine strikeouts. Jackson is now 1-2 on the year but has posted a 1.38 ERA in his last two outings, striking out 18 against six walks in 13 innings.

Bellevue (9-11) is slated to return to action this weekend. The coaching staff is still working to finalize the schedule as Midland University has prohibited their teams from playing as a precaution relating to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
