BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- For the second-straight game, the third-seeded Bellevue University baseball team rallied late, this time pulling out a dramatic, 3-2 win over top-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan Univeristy Friday afternoon in a winner's bracket contest at the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament.

The Bruins scored all three runs in the final two innings, including two in the bottom of the ninth, plating a pair of runs on an Eagle fiedling error.

Bellevue (43-12), ranked 16th nationally, advances to the MCAC Tournament championship game tomorrow (May 2) at 1:30  p.m. The sixth-ranked Eagles will play in an elimination game tomorrow at 10 a.m.

The Eagles grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the second after scoring on a passed ball following consecutive singles by Zair Koeiman and Brandon Cummings.

Oklahoma Wesleyan increased the lead to 2-0 in the top of the eighth on an RBI single by David Espinoza.

OKWU starting pitcher CJ Gregory held the Bruins scoreless until the bottom of the eighth inning when senior Aaron Brasher launched a solo homer over the left field fence to slice the lead to 2-1.

Trevor Jones led off the bottom of the ninth with a double to left field. After a sacrifice bunt and an intentional walk to Osvaldo Gonzalez put runners on the corners with one out, Colton Nash's fly ball to center field was misplayed by Eagle center fielder Gunner Joyce, allowing two runs to score, ending the game at 3-2 in dramatic fashion.

Stephan Meyer (10-2) earned his team-leading 10th win of the season, registering eight strikeouts while scattering eight hits with no walks in nine innings on the mound.
