OMAHA, Neb. -- Sixteenth-ranked York College snapped the Bellevue University baseball team's 20-game winning streak, recording a doubleheader sweep over the Bruins, winning 2-1 and 4-1 Friday afternoon at Westgate Field.

The Bruins, ranked No. 9 nationally, fell to 26-6-1 on the season and 8-2 in the MCAC. York ran its winning streak to 21 games, improving to 30-7 overall and 12-0 in league play.

The four-game series will conclude tomorrow (April 6) with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Westgate Field.

Game 1: York 2, Bellevue 1
Robert Greco recorded 12 strikeouts with no walks, but it wasn't enough as York used a two-run fifth inning to edge the Bruins, 2-1, in the opener. Greco fell to 5-2 on the season with the loss.

Tyler Molder (5-1) earned the win, collecting seven strikeouts with five walks in nine innings of work.

The Panthers had runners on the corners in the second and third innings, but failed to score after solid defensive plays by the Bruins.

After York led off the fifth inning with consecutive singles by Brett Wise and Isidro Carrizoza, a two-run single by Josh Nuyten gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning.

An RBI single by Kyle Kinman cut the lead in half at 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth.

The Bruins threatened in the bottom of the ninth with a single by Andy Smolinski and a walk to Beau Dahmen, before Molder forced Zack Clark to groundout to third base to end the threat and secure the win.

Game 2: York 4, Bellevue 1
York's Aaron Conyers' tossed a seven-hitter with six strikeouts to pace the Panthers to the 4-1 win in the nightcap. Four different Panthers drove in runs and Trevor Ramos went 2-for-3 with a double.

A two-out RBI single by Carrizoza scored Trevor Ramos in the top of the fifth to give York a 1-0 advantage. Ramos led off the fifth with a double to left field.

The Panthers increased the lead to 2-0 in the sixth with an RBI single up the middle by Matt Owen.

Bellevue threatened in the bottom of the sixth with runners on second and third and one out. Conyers, however, ended the threat, striking out Dusty Kerns and forcing a flyout from Embery.

The Panthers added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh, scoring on an RBI single by Jordan Leis and a sacrifice fly to center field by Nuyten, to stretch the York lead to 4-0.

The Bruins avoided the shutout with an RBI single by Kinman in the bottom of the seventh to make the final, 4-1.
