Bruins add Iowa Western transfer Moore
The Bellevue University baseball team under head coach Duane Monlux announced today the signing of Iowa Western Community College outfielder Tanner Moore to a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall of 2011.

A two-year starter at IWCC, Moore earned first team all-Region honors in 2011, helping the Reivers to a fourth place finish at the NJCAA I World Series while batting .371 with 13 doubles, five triples, five home runs, and 50 RBIs. He also stole 12 bases and recorded a .434 on-base percentage.

Moore was also a starter on IWCC's 2010 national championship team. During the 2010 season, Moore batted .383 with nine doubles, three triples, five home runs, and 45 RBIs.

“Tanner was a very good signing for Bellevue University," stated Monlux. "He comes from one of the best junior college programs in the country in Iowa Western. Tanner was a mainstay in their lineup during his two seasons. We expect him to be a major contributor for us in the outfield this upcoming season. He is a tremendous baseball player that has a huge upside. He has the ability to hit for power and average and he also has the ability to steal some bases,” added Monlux.

Moore joins earlier signees Aaron Beil (Omaha, Neb.) and Ryan Knutz (Rochester, Wash.) who signed earlier this spring with the Bruins.

The 2011 Bruins finished the season with a 31-22 overall record, advancing to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round after winning the 2011 MCAC Tournament title.
