Beil signs with Bruin baseball program
The Bruin baseball program, under head coach Duane Monlux, announced today the signing of junior college transfer Aaron Beil (Omaha, Neb./Pratt CC/Bryan HS) to a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2011.

Beil, who will be used both as a corner infielder and as a pitcher, batted .316 in 2010 and .299 in 2011 for Pratt Community College in Pratt, Kan. He drove in 54 runs during his two-year career with the Beavers. On the mound, Beil finished the 2011 season with a 3-6 record, a 6.15 ERA and 42 strikeouts.

During his prep career at Omaha Bryan High School, Beil was named the 2009 Bellevue Leader High School Baseball Player of the year, while also garnering Omaha World-Herald first team all-state honors after breaking the state record for home runs in a season with 17. He was also a two-year letterwinner in basketball for the Bears.

"We are excited to have signed Aaron to a letter of intent for the 2011-12 school year," stated Monlux. "It is always nice when you can sign an impact type of player from right in the Omaha area. He will be looked at to contribute both on the mound and in the field for us," added Monlux.

Beil joins fellow recruit Ryan Knutz (Rochester, Wash.) who signed earlier this spring with the Bruins.

The 2011 Bruins finished the season with a 31-22 overall record, advancing to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round after winning the 2011 MCAC Tournament title.
