Lehotak named NSAA Athletic Director of the Year

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- For the second time in his career, Bellevue University Athletic Director Ed Lehotak has earned North Star Athletic Association Athletic Director of the Year honors for the 2020-21 academic year.

Lehotak, who also earned the honor in 2016-17, oversaw the Bruin athletic program that had six teams qualify for the NAIA National Tournament, with two teams, men's golf and men's soccer, finishing in the top 10 in the nation. In addition, six teams won either conference regular-season or tournament championships. Seven teams finished either first or runner-up in their respective regular-season standings in 2020-21.

The Bruins, who hosted the 2021 NSAA Softball Tournament as well as the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round, had 42 student-athletes who were named all-conference and six who earned NAIA All-American honors.

Lehotak was elected as the NSAA's representative to the Board of Directors of the NAIA Athletic Directors Association (ADA) in 2019-20. He also currently serves on the NAIA Softball National Selection Committee.

Notes: This marks the fourth time that Lehotak has been tabbed as the conference Athletic Director of the Year after twice being named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year in addition to his two NSAA honors.
