Ramirez earns all-NSAA honors in 5000 meters

Dickinson, N.D. -- Lorena Ramirez became the first Bruin in school history to earn all-NSAA honors in track as the freshman finished third in the 5,000 meters at the 2019 North Star Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday at the Beisiot Activities Center on the Dickinson State University campus. 

Ramirez finished in a school-record time in the 5,000 with a time of 20:02.98 to earn six points for BU. 

Other Bruin scorers in the meet included a fifth-place finish in the men's 10,000-meter run by Gerardo Najera (34:36.18), a fifth-place finish in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase by Cole Wagner (10:30.64), a fourth-place showing in the women's 1,500-meter run by Dayana Montano-Salama (5:59.64), an eighth-place finish in the 1,500 meters by Diana Montana-Salama (6:32.87), and an eighth-place showing in the men's 5,000-meter run by Gerardo Najera (16:51.15).
