Sophomore Gerardo Najera placed fifth in the 10,000 meters on day one of the North Star Athletic Association Conference Outdoor Championships being held at the Biesiot Activities Center on the Dickinson State University campus.
Najera recorded a school-record time of 34:36.18 to score two team points for the Bruin men. Najera and the rest of the Bruin distance team will compete on Friday on day two of the 2019 NSAA Conference Outdoor Championships.
Dickinson State leads the men's team standings with 67 points after Day 1.
