Bruins compete at Jim Dutcher Invite with several notable finishes

CRETE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women and men competed at the Jim Dutcher Invite Friday and Saturday, with several notable finishes and a new school record. 

The women were highlighted by sixth-place finishes from Lorena Ramirez in the 1500 meters (5:33.05) and Dayana Montano-Salama in the 5000 meters (23:59.07).

The men's highlights included Cole Wagner's third-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:38.75) and a school record in the 1,500 meters by Chris Casart with a time 4:25.60, which was good for seventh place. Casart was sixth in the 5,000 meters (16:55.65) on Friday night.

The Bruins will compete in the Prairie Wolf Invite, hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University, on Thursday, April 25 beginning at 3 p.m.
