
BISMARCK, N.D. -- For the second straight week and the third time this season, senior All-American Madison Nelson has been named the North Star Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance at last week's Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo., the site of this year's NAIA National Championship.
Nelson finished 36th overall in a field of 307 DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, and NJCAA runners. She was the 13th NAIA runner in a loaded field of nationally ranked teams, which included the following NAIA-ranked teams: Taylor (4), Cumberlands (5), Grace (11), Indiana Wesleyan (15), Cornerstone (17), and Aquinas (21),
Her 6K time of 22:33.0 was the fourth fastest in school history.
The Bruins will use a two-week training block to prepare for their next meet, the Holiday Inn Express Classic hosted by Dordt on October 12.
