
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Senior Madison Nelson was the sole entrant for the Bellevue University women's cross country team at Friday's Gans Creek Classic run at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
Nelson ran 22:33.0, which was the fourth fastest 6-kilometer time in Bruin history. She placed 36th in the field of 307 runners in the Open race. She was the thirteenth NAIA runner behind five members of the No. 4-ranked Taylor University squad and three more from No. 5 Cumberlands University.
The Bruins will use a two-week training block to prepare for their next meet, the Holiday Inn Express Classic hosted by Dordt on October 12.
