MADISON, S.D. -- For the third time this season and the 11th time in her career, junior Madison Nelson has earned North Star Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for her performance at last week's Platte River Rumble at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Neb.
Nelson ran to a 13th-place finish in a field of 115 runners at the Platte River Rumble hosted by Creighton University. She finished behind nine NCAA Division I athletes and two from the NJCAA. Her time of 22:28.3 was the second-best on the Bellevue University all-time list for six kilometers.
The Bruins have one final regular season meet this Saturday (Oct. 21) when they return to Mahoney State Park for the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, the first time this season that they face an all-NAIA field. Then, two weeks later, they travel to LaCrosse, Wis., for the NSAA Cross Country Championships.
