
MADISON, S.D. -- For the second time this season, freshman Madison Nelson (Plattsmouth, Neb.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance at the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational held last Friday in Lincoln.
Nelson ran a lifetime best of 19 minutes, 41.4 seconds to finish 94th for the Bruins in the Greeno/Dirksen Invite, hosted by NCAA Division I Nebraska and NCAA Division III Nebraska Wesleyan. The field featured seven NCAA Division I teams, with a total of 213 runners in the 5K race. She was five seconds from the school record and 12th best among NAIA entrants in the race.
The Bruins return to action on Friday, September 24, when they travel to Wayne, Neb. for the Wildcat Classic.
