BISMARCK, N.D. – Freshman Madison Nelson (Plattsmouth, Neb.) was selected as the North Star Athletic Association's Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance last week at the Bill Buxton Invitational hosted by Simpson (Iowa) College in Indianola, Iowa.
Nelson made her collegiate debut with a fifth-place finish in the meet, helping the Bruins to a third-place showing as a team. She clocked a time of 17 minutes, 4 seconds in the 4K race, which featured a total of 35 runners.
The Bruins will travel to Lincoln, Neb. on Sept. 18 to participate in the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational. The meet will begin at 10 a.m. at the Mahoney Golf Course and will be hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University.
