Bruin women compete at Dean White Invitational

Results

CRETE, Neb. --Once again, the injury-depleted Bruin women's cross country team had only three entries and were unable to field a scoring team today at the 25th running of the Dean White Invitational held on the Doane University campus. Taylor Caba led the Bruins again, running 22:36.7 to finish 32nd among the 76 runners. Dayana Montano-Salama and twin sister Diana were 71st and 74th respectively in 27:18.8 and 28:12.6

Concordia University placed all seven of their runners in the top fifteen to secure the team title over host Doane.

Head Coach Craig Christians was happy with the efforts he saw today. "I was particularly happy about the way all of the women attacked the first mile today. We probably needed to back off just a bit to even out the pace but I was proud of the way the race started. We've still got six weeks until conference so we've got some time to work on that."

The Bruins will compete for the fifth weekend in a row next Saturday as they travel back to the Adams Nature Preserve in North Sioux City for the Briar Cliff Invite before getting a much-needed break from racing.
