Omaha native Nick Torchia begins his second season on the Bruin coaching staff this season, serving as an undergraduate assistant.
Torchia previously served as student manager for the University of Nebraska Huskers for three seasons. He also coached club volleyball for the VCNebraska 13's for three years.
An accomplished player, Torchia played for the University of Nebraska men's club team for three seasons. He helped UNL to a third-place finish at the National Collegiate Club Tournament two-straight years, twice earning All-American honors in 2012 and 2013. Torchia also garnered all-conference honors on two occasions.
Torchia's primary responsibilities will be assisting in the training of the Bruin middles as well as scouting and recruiting.
Torchia is currently working on completing his bachelor's degree in health and human performance from Bellevue University.
